Job Summary 

 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Finance / Finance Director, Greater China to join and oversee our Finance Department, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Greater China. 

 

This pivotal role leads the Finance Department in Hong Kong with 6 FTEs and supervises the Chinese Mainland team of 2 FTEs. 

 

The successful candidate will be a business partner with strong analysis skills but also lead the team to ensure financial integrity, a strong internal control environment, and compliance requirements are met. Additionally, the role involves managing ad hoc projects such as senior management reports or reviewing systems and procedures. 

 

Responsibilities  

 

  • Plan, organise, and lead the accounting function in Hong Kong, liaising with Mainland China to consolidate data as required. 

  • Strong business partner skills to work with department heads and the board to analyse and raise issues impacting the business. 

  • Supervise and review team performance and provide training as needed.  

  • Enhance efficiency and improve the internal control environment, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements. 

  • Liaise effectively across departments and the overseas offices such as the UK. 

  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and timely, accurate month-end closes and reporting. 

  • Monitor and control working capital and perform cash flow forecasting. 

  • Oversee the debt collection process. 

  • Plan and prepare the 3-year plan, annual budget, and half-year forecast. 

  • Monitor financial results against plans and budgets. 

  • Assist in corporate tax planning, including review of tax computations and timely filing. 

  • Manage the implementation and upgrading of accounting systems if required. 

 

Requirements 

 

  • University degree in Finance/Accounting and recognised accounting qualification. 

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, ideally accounting firm trained. 

  • Solid experience in financial and management accounting. 

  • Analysis experience with strong excel, PowerBI or other analysis software preferred. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. 

  • Previous exposure to PRC operations, accounting, and tax regulations is advantageous. 

  • Strong commercial acumen, sound judgment, and a positive can-do attitude. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Excellent spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
