The Role

 

Knight Frank’s Residential Development department comprises of specialist Land Agency, Consultancy and Valuations teams that work alongside each other to provide clients with a seamless service. 

 

The Central Land Residential Development team has a vacancy for an Associate, to carry out both Land Agency and Consultancy advice.  Working alongside the Department Head and his team you will be managing your own clients and workload as well as assisting with other transactions where required. 

 

Some of the your main Responsibilities:

 

Fee Income & Business Generation

  • To obtain instructions on suitable opportunities/business in sufficient quantity to satisfy business requirements (including site finding)
  • Pitch writing and attendance
  • Selling development opportunities for clients and managing the sales process throughout including report and appraisal writing, running tenders, finalising Heads of Terms and guiding sales through the legal process
  • To liaise with and work closely with other departments, in particular the New Homes Team to support them and feed their hopper
  • Appropriate use of social media

 

Professional Standards

  • To foster the professional image of the department and Firm at all times
  • To ensure the efficient administration on all relevant Quality Assurance procedures
  • Knowledge of the development process and correct advice given
  • To be responsible for implementing all aspects of the office/department and its administration to established standards, as laid down centrally or by the Partner in charge
  • Maintain confidentiality in respect of all work undertaken by the department and to be aware of what is likely to be sensitive information
  • To observe the terms of the Property Misdescriptions Act 1991 and follow the regulations and guidelines laid down in the Firm’s internal procedures at all times. 
  • To be responsible for all outstanding monies in relation to client business
  • Attend events to promote the department and firm amongst clients and professional organisations

 

Team

  • Where relevant to act in the capacity of a No 2 responsible to and in support of the Partner in charge in all aspects of the management and running of the office or department
  • Deputise for as long as is appropriate and as agreed by a senior Partner, for the Partner in his/her absence
  • To accept responsibility for any aspect of the office/department and delegated tasks as decided by the Partner in charge

 

Client Care

  • To maintain a high professional profile and be continually alert to business opportunities
  • To attend Knight Frank’s CX121 training courses and deliver the best customer experience according to the values

 

Professional Experience and Personal Skills Profile

 

  • 5+ years relevant experience i.e Residential Development, Planning, Land Manager, Development Surveyor, Chartered Surveyor
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Hard-working, ambitious, committed and gregarious
  • Be a self-starter

 

IT & Systems Competence

 

  • To absorb all aspects of information technology systems particular to the office/department including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Argus & LandInsight and have an understanding of their broader applications and availability in the division
