Knight Frank is the leading independent property consultancy in the UK offering agency and professional advice across Residential, Commercial and Rural sectors. Established in 1897, Knight Frank now comprises a global network of over 400 offices.  Due to ongoing ambitious expansion plans, Residential Consultancy are now looking to recruit a Mapping Technician to work within the Mapping team, based primarily in Newbury, Berkshire.

Role:

The team provide a wide range of mapping and surveying services to their clients, including bespoke mapping in support of sales; acquisitions; land registration; valuations; strategic development; compulsory purchase claims; estate, farm and portfolio management. They also regularly undertake site surveys and boundary audits, as well as drone surveys in support of their clients’ requirements.

Your responsibilities will primarily include sourcing, managing and interpreting data to prepare a variety of plans in support of business needs.  You will also have the opportunity to assist on site surveys, with the intention that you will be able to undertake these yourself in due course (with all the necessary training provided).  You will be liaising directly with clients from across the whole Knight Frank business as well as externally.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will be degree educated, with at least one year’s experience in a comparable role. You will be highly computer literate with experience in using at least one GIS package, ideally Cadcorp, an understanding of Ordnance Survey datasets and MS Office.  A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required for this role, as is the ability to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks as necessary. You will be a confident communicator, able to build rapport with internal and external clients and be a proven self-starter who is adaptable. A full UK driving licence and own transport are essential for travel to client sites. Training will be provided for the right candidate where required.
