Based in our Manchester Office at Marsden Street, the Property Asset Management department is looking to recruit an Associate to work on a number of client instructions. NB: We would also consider someone at Senior Surveyor level if they can demonstrate the right level of skills and experience required.




  • To be responsible for all management functions, including rent collection, service charge budget setting and management and diary control.
  • Provide high quality day to day property management advice within the team.
  • Liaising with the property administrator, client accounting team and asset managers (both external & internal) to ensure all assets are operating efficiently and business is managed in an efficient and professional manner.
  • To attend client meetings and provide necessary periodic reporting.
  • To have a strong understanding of landlord and tenant matters and pursue property management opportunities.
  • To deal with all tenant applications for alterations, subletting, assignments and wayleaves and liaise with the client’s solicitors.
  • To liaise with the client’s insurance brokers in connection with the annual insurance renewal providing information as required and to manage any insurance claims.
  • To understand the business and have a sound business knowledge together with a keen awareness of the competition and to maintain a high profile in order to obtain introductions to prospective clients.
  • Manage relationships with other Knight Frank Departments and proactively cross sell services.
  • To build and maintain goodwill, confidentiality and trust with prospective and existing clients at all times in order to foster the professional image of the Partnership.
  • To carry out regular property inspections.
  • To perform other tasks delegated by the Partner in charge as required.


Qualifications/Education Required.


  • Degree educated
  • MRICS (ideally at least 3-4 years post qualified experience) 


Career Experience Required


  • Strong property management background
  • Familiarity of working across a variety of asset classes
  • Understanding of the service charge process from budgeting to reconciliation across different types and scales of property
  • Experience of managing junior staff in a team environment, overseeing workload and providing professional support where needed


Particular Aptitudes/Skills Required


  • Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and delivery of the RICS Service Charge professional statement
  • The experience, ability and enthusiasm to help deliver first class property management services
  • The ability to provide solutions and options when confronted with new situations and articulate them to a wide and varied audience, including clients, tenants and colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact well with a wide range of people of all levels of seniority
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the team, department and firm to achieve and exceed goals
  • Driven and motivated.  Able to manage a large workload with multiple deadlines and changing priorities with the ability to motivate and direct others where appropriate
  • Attention to detail in all forms of communication including reports, emails, excel document and other media
  • Experience of producing clear, concise and accurate reports, advice and general written communication
  • Consistent delivery of high service levels providing best advice at all times to the firm and its clients
  • Strong IT skills including MS office suite and preference of Horizon accounting software knowledge
  • A track record of dealing with tenant applications in accordance with best practice and making appropriate client recommendations
