We are seeking a motivated and experienced Service Charge Accountant to join our team on a temporary basis at our 55 Baker Street HQ. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Residential Lettings Accounts department, focusing on investigating and closing off legacy service charge accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Investigating legacy service charge accounts across multiple portfolios where management has transferred to new agents.
  • Collaborating with external managing agents to resolve any outstanding queries.
  • Liaising with internal Knight Frank teams to gather supporting property history and information.
  • Contacting suppliers to obtain copy invoices and clarify expenditure details.
  • Reviewing apportionment schedules and ensuring accuracy in their application.
  • Comparing actual expenditure against budgets, investigating and addressing any discrepancies.

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Service Charge Accountant, ideally within the residential lettings sector.
  • Proficiency in relevant IT systems, including Qube PM, APB, and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Strong communication skills with a professional telephone manner and excellent written English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A detail-oriented and proactive approach to solving complex account issues.
