We are looking for a Rural Research expert to join our Residential Research team to support the Head of Rural Research delivering thought leadership and analytical support to the Rural Consultancy and Farms & Estates teams, working in conjunction with the Rural GIS, ESG Research, Intelligence Lab and Marketing and PR teams.
Rural Consultancy’s ambitious expansion plans mean it is no longer feasible for a single researcher to provide the required level of supply.
In addition, the growing global focus on land-based ESG solutions and renewable energy and food security issues offers the opportunity to cooperate more closely with the wider Knight Frank global network of rural consultants and farm sales teams.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Internal facing
- Unify currently disaggregated data from the various rural teams (sales, valuations, consultancy) to provide more sales and rental pricing insights
- Analyse government policy statements and papers to create briefing notes for the RC teams with the emphasis on what opportunities and challenges they will bring for clients
- Work closely with the Rural GIS team to create meaningful insight for the Rural teams
External facing
- Working closely with the Rural teams help to create thought-leadership content and opinion that positions them as the leading experts in their field
- Help develop new PR-friendly rural pricing indices and data series
- Contribute to Rural Research’s current regular outputs such as the weekly Rural Updates and annual Rural Report as well as creating content for the Intelligence Lab
You will ideally have the following experience:
- A deep understanding of the structure of the UK’s agriculture sector and the challenges and opportunities facing it, in particular its relationship with environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity, natural capital, public goods and the wider ESG agenda
- In writing long and short form content is a form suitable for a variety of channels (web, reports, hardcopy etc) and audiences (internal, b2b and b2c)
- Of numbers and data analysis and the ability to turn them into compelling content
