Our Project and Building Consultancy team are seeking a candidate for the role of Senior Cost Consultant to be part of their London based team in managing fit-out, refurbishment and new build projects through feasibility and Cost Planning, contractor tendering, post contract cost reporting and finally agreement of the final account.

Project & Building Consultancy undertake a range of projects, both new build and the modification of existing buildings, with projects varying from 5,000ft2 to 100,000ft2.  Whilst the department covers the EMEA region and their may be some requirement to travel, the majority of its projects are located in Central London. Our ‘core’ business is office interior fit-outs.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Measurement and Cost Planning
  • Advise to Client’s on most suitable form of Contract and procurement route
  • Work closely with external consultants, including architects and engineers; this will include attendance at design team meetings
  • Production of tender documents, tender analysis and tender reports
  • Preparing Contract documents
  • Cost Reporting, Valuations and cost control at post Contracts stage
  • Agreement of final accounts
  • Working with the team in terms of marketing and pushing the team forward to further success.
  • Attendance Client meetings with minimal supervision
  • Run projects on a ‘day to day’ basis with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and maintain cost plans
  • Undertake cost control
  • Manage and monitor resources and advise on cost-related matters.
  • Preparing cost estimates and forecasts
  • Review, verify and validate project costs.

 

 

Professional experience and personal skills profile

 

  • Experience within commercial/office fit out projects
  • A BSc degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • Post-graduate experience working as a Cost Consultant/ QS
  • RICS qualified (preferable but working towards APC is acceptable)
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and a determination to succeed
  • An inquisitive mind – keen to develop and learn new things
  • Strong attention to detail
