A great opportunity has arisen to join us here at Knight Frank, and we are currently seeking a Surveyor to join our Property Asset Management team based in our Global HQ at Baker Street, London.


You will join a dynamic team that looks after a predominantly commercial portfolio for a fund. The responsibilities include contributing to the strategy for the portfolio, asset management, development, leasing, property management and facilities management. The role is varied, and every day is different.


In the Surveyor role, you will be responsible for:

  • Building and maintaining goodwill and trust with both prospective and existing clients
  • Providing high quality day to day asset and property management
  • Liaising with client accountants to review rent raising reports and to ensure that all rent and service charge demands are sent out in a timely manner
  • Liaising with the credit controller to ensure all rent and other monies are collected
  • Proactively managing payment plan applications and arrears recovery
  • Producing annual service charge budges and reconciliations as well as regular service charge expenditure monitoring
  • Effectively managing head lease reconciliations
  • Instructing and liaising with the building manager / FM and building consultants in respect of repairs, planned maintained programmes and refurbishment projects
  • Liaising with the client’s insurance brokers in connection with the annual insurance renewal
  • Building good landlord-tenant relationships with the tenants, meeting with them on a regular basis and being the main point of contact
  • Carrying out regular property inspections
  • Liaising with the building manager and other consultants and overseeing the approval of tenant’s fit out works
  • Dealing with all tenant applications for alterations, subletting, assignments, and wayleaves
  • Efficiently producing high quality reporting materials on both regular and ad hoc basis
  • Proactively managing consultant and contractor relationships
  • Performing other tasks delegated by the team leaders as required


To be successful in the Surveyor role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree educated
  • MRICs
  • Property Management experience
  • Experience of Property Management software and systems
  • Experience of working across a variety of asset classes
  • Some valuation experience would be ideal
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team and exceed goals
  • Ability to be organized and manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities
  • Ability to motivate and direct others where appropriate
  • Creativity to produce clear, concise, and accurate reports
  • A pragmatic approach to management
