Knight Frank is looking to recruit an IT Business Partner (ITBP) with the mandate to establish a relationship between IT and the business, and to increase the value realized from IT assets, investments, and capabilities.

 

The ITBP is responsible for understanding the business – how it functions, it’s needs and strategic vision, helping them prioritise their project demand / aspirations, The ITBP is responsible for understanding the business, assisting in the prioritization of business change and service excellence, ensuring alignment with the technology that realises and protects business value. As an influential senior IT leader, the ITBP provide leadership to transform, motivate and improve IT value, alining IT resource and activities to best fulfil organisation strategy.

 

The ITBP is the liaison between IT and the business unit, and a trusted advisor to the business unit. As such, the ITBP needs to have significant relevant domain knowledge in subject matters pertaining to both IT and the business processes underlying the delivery of [Commercial / Residential] property services , and must have a thorough understanding of the business to identify its needs and envisage business solutions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate the development of technology strategies for the business unit that are aligned to the overall business strategy.
  • Effectively straddle the line between IT and the business unit: While participating in IT initiatives, represent the business unit requirements, capabilities and constraints in a constructive manner.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and their ability to provide a competitive edge.
  • Look for opportunities to leverage technology to achieve business unit objectives.
  • Engage with relevant IT teams as a solution driver when called upon, helping with and guiding the business unit through the relevant IT process.
  • Work with the business to help prepare cost benefit analyses for candidate projects, and assist business stakeholders in prioritizing projects based on cost v value v business strategy analysis.
  • Ensure the alignment of projects with the technology that provides maximum ROI.
  • Participate in the IT annual budgeting and planning process for the assigned business units, and tracks IT spend on.
  • Develop and manage the relationship between IT and internal and external partners (business units, service providers). 
  • Drive Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiations to enhance value to the business unit.
  • Ensure the business units understand the technology solution, overall solution delivery, and compliance to governance processes, architecture standards, etc.
  • Identify and leverage IT synergy potentials across business units
  • Develop and communicate IT innovation and awareness programs
  • Ensuring that any vendor selection suitably considers the firm Technology strategy alongside the business strategy and requirements
  • Ensuring that Procurement are engaged well in advance of any vendor selections, to ensure suitable due diligence is completed
  • Supervise systems selection processes and ensure selection of appropriate solutions. 
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex business requirements to the technology teams
  • Develop recommendation for joint or coordinated application project delivery across business units in collaboration with other  BPs
  • Responsible for Demand Management, including the initial requirements gathering, management of priorities against the Resi Strategy and any communication of status in backlog
  • Influence decision making of priorities of work taken forward before initiation of IT Work reception
  • Manage the Work Reception process for IT from the business, ensuring relative governance is sufficient for Audit purposes
  • Work closely with Product Owners and the Residential Product Innovation manager?
  • Act as ambassadors for the core Knight Frank Technology (hub, Resi Portal, Teams, Infrastructure etc) – actively promoting changes and developments.
  • Support the business in securing BAU Technology support for IT Catalogue items (simple new software deployment, office moves, new offices, Digital marketing board installs etc)

 

 

 

Professional experience and personal skills profile

 

Qualifications/Education Required.

  • 10 years’ experience working in an IT function acing of to the business
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within Professional Services (or other similar sales environment) with excellent level of exposure to business processes and systems.

 

Knowledge / Experience

  • Excellent understanding of the organizational goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the organization’s core business processes and operations, along with the strategic use of technology to grow a business.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analyses, elicitation, modelling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Proven experience in multiple aspects of IT over 10 years +
  • Demonstrated project portfolio management skills, including project planning, budgeting, and controlling processes, and valuing IT investments.
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
  • Ability to understand and communicate/present detailed and advanced business solutions.
  • Ability to communicate up and down the management chain, providing the appropriate level of detail and focus on the right information.
  • Experience of working with innovative partners / start-ups / PropTech to help the flow of industry leading technology into the firm.
