The Finance Business Partner will work closely with the Head of Division and sub-divisional heads throughout the UK business, in order to provide financial and commercial recommendations, which will help to shape the business strategy and key decisions. Working closely with the Partners at board level, you will provide regular analysis on performance against targets and the wider market, giving insight and recommendations at business planning meetings or on an ad-hoc basis.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsibility for managing the financial reporting and analysis for specific sub-division(s) and all dept’s within this structure.  Working closely with the FP&A team leads, Head of Sub-division and relevant stakeholders within sub-division.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders and their teams
  • Providing and developing clear and concise, financial and management information at all levels within sub-division.
  • Presenting to Sub-Divisional and Team Boards, drawing out key performance indicators, trends and issues based on an in-depth understanding of the relevant data.
  • Analysing data to provide commercial advice and guidance on business strategy and operational performance against set targets to support and improve sub-divisional decision making.
  • Running annual Sub-divisional budget and re-forecast process for specific sub-division(s) and all dept’s within this structure.
  • Ad-hoc business projects
  • The role will include:
    • Active involvement in the annual budget and reforecasting activities
    • Engagement in the monthly reporting cycle including review of data to ensure accuracy
    • Business case analysis

 

Experience

 

  • You will be a qualified financial analyst / accountant, with strong analytical skills and commercial understanding.
  • Excellent communication skills – the role requires the ability to communicate financial data to non-finance staff at all levels within the firm and presenting up to sub –divisional Board level.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting and challenging non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven experience working with senior management teams.
  • The ability to provide commercial advice and guidance, assisting in key business decisions and strategy planning.
  • Consultative approach, with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Project management / co-ordination skills to manage the annual budget cycle
  • Financial modelling.
  • Previous experience working in a large, national or international company would be beneficial.

Qualifications

 

  • Qualified Accountant  - CIMA, ACA or ACCA (or equivalent)

 

Systems & IT competence

 

  • Experience of SAP, BPC and Business Objects preferable
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills needed
  • Aptitude to learn new systems quickly and explain them to others.
