Knight Frank is looking for an innovative ESG Research Lead to join its market-leading Global Research team at a crucial moment for the Real Estate sector.

Based in our Baker Street office, this senior position will play a pivotal role in helping Knight Frank to respond to the rapidly developing needs of our clients and shape the firm’s ambitious ESG agenda whilst contributing crucial-thought leadership to the industry. This is a new role, and as such, will be ideal for a creative individual who does not want to be constrained by a rigid job specification and someone who is looking for the opportunity to develop their position within a market-leading and forward-looking business.


In the ESG Research Lead role, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and interpreting new ESG related regulations and policies, for both internal and external audiences
  • Working with key stakeholders across the Research team and wider business to collate and interpret requirements in terms of research needs
  • Formulating and prioritising ESG research requirements and chairing the monthly ESG Research Board to discuss these requirements
  • Managing a team of dedicated ESG Research Analysts
  • Directing standout pieces of ESG thought leadership by drawing on analysts and other technical specialists
  • Feedback findings of research to market specialists within the Research team for outputs to be formulated
  • Working with the wider business, such as Valuations and Energy, to shape and drive the proprietary data capture plan


To be successful in the ESG Research Lead role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • University degree (1st or 2:1) in a relevant subject
  • 5 plus years industry experience to include a focus on ESG related topics
  • Strong interpersonal skills suited to working within a professional team environment and a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable capability to distil complex regulatory issues and research findings in a user-friendly way
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
