The Team


Knight Frank has a market leading UK Senior Living department advising all key activity in the sector across developers, operators and funders. Based in our London Head Office, this is a new role and has been created on the back of the department’s activity.


The team offer a full range of services across the sector specialising in the funding, disposal, acquisition and advice to ‘over +55s’ retirement housing, housing with care and assisted living. We are proud of our depth of knowledge gathered from our active role in many of the key transactions and valuation mandates in the market, and take a highly collaborative approach drawing on the depth of global resources in Knight Frank across Research, Healthcare, Capital Markets and our sales and lettings offices across the UK.


The Role


The department is looking to recruit an Associate to work closely with operators to meet their business growth potential – to include land deals, forward funds, equity raises, etc. The remit will be UK wide but predominantly in the South East.




Funding & Land Agency


  • Working as part of team to manage funding relationships
  • Acquire & sell land
  • Management of clients (funders & operators) on a ‘day to day’ basis.
  • Responsibility for the management of land and funding deals – to include sourcing land, marketing opportunities, working with consultants and solicitors.
  • Working as a part of a team – including delegating and managing junior members of staff.
  • Preparing and issuing marketing advice – including pricing and advice on land value.
  • Responsibility for consultancy reports and market led advice to clients.
  • Working closely with wider Knight Frank network across Residential Development, Healthcare, and regional colleagues in key locations where instructions are located.
  • Unit pricing for schemes with accompanying comparable evidence and rationale.
  • Manage database of land evidence for the sector.


Business Generation & Fee Income


  • Be an internal and external ‘voice’ for senior living at Knight Frank to help raise profile.
  • Feed into senior living land and research reports from a market activity and pricing perspective.
  • Have the ability to increase the quantity of instructions via business generation to ensure development of the department as a whole.
  • Monitor all correspondence and enquiries on behalf of others as and when required when they are absent from the office referring to such matters as require urgent attention to someone of the authority and experience to deal with them.
  • Understand and be proficient in the use of all the office technology required.
  • Attend events to promote the department and firm amongst clients and professional organisations.


Client Care


  • Respond quickly to client enquiries.
  • Foster the professional image of Knight Frank at all times.
  • Prepare and manage fee quotes, pitches and client updates.
  • Be able to present your advice to clients in various formats.


Professional Standards


  • Build up a sound awareness of the sector.
  • Take a close interest in the property press with a view to building up a wide perspective of the property market and related activities.
  • Maintain neat tidy orderly file records.
  • Fully understand office records and procedures and be able to make good use of all the available information contained therein.
  • Maintain confidentiality in respect of all work undertaken by the Department and to be aware of what is likely to be sensitive information.
  • Need to respect the confidentiality of sensitive information and abide by the principle of continuing professional development as required by RICS.
  • You will be working to support various professional standards which will include acquiring and building a sound knowledge of property markets and legal case law.
  • You will be adhering to deadlines and make good use of office records and procedures.
  • Within the role you will be liaising with members of other departments and gaining an understanding of individuals and their markets both for the purpose of obtaining information, whilst looking for opportunities for cross selling the business.

Qualifications/Education Required.


  • Degree educated


Career Experience


  • 2-5 years relevant experience acquiring/marketing development opportunities and working as part of a team.

  • A highly proactive approach to business generation – an ability to identify business opportunities and leverage off them.
