We are looking to recruit a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic Lettings Accounts Team for a 3-month Fixed Term Contract at our office located at 55 Baker Street. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of accounting duties, including tenant credit control, client accounting, and management accounts. You will also handle client, tenant, and internal queries, as well as other general accounting tasks. This opportunity is perfect for someone eager to gain experience and grow within a supportive accounts environment.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Process and post tenant and landlord receipts.
  • Chase tenant arrears and manage credit control.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and prepare banking spreadsheets.
  • Handle banking receipts and process credit/debit card payments.
  • Post supplier invoices and manage client fee arrears.
  • Address and resolve queries from clients, tenants, and internal departments.
  • Carry out various administrative tasks and ad hoc duties as needed.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

 

  • At least 6 months of accounting experience in a similar role (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Prior experience as a client accountant within a lettings agency is advantageous.
  • Ability to professionally and courteously resolve client queries.
  • High attention to detail with the capability to work independently.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Excel and familiarity with general accounting practices.
