Knight Frank is looking to hire an Agricultural Consultant to join our growing Northern team, based out of our Harrogate office.

Role:

Knight Frank is seeking an Agricultural Consultant to join their Northern Agri Business Consultancy team. The role involves supporting existing team members with client work while offering opportunities to develop your own client base and expertise. The team provides tailored consultancy and business management solutions, focusing on maximizing clients' rural business potential through sustainable and holistic approaches. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with clients to understand their individual requirements, challenges, and objectives in relation to agricultural production and land management.
  • Aid clients in developing comprehensive farm business plans, including financial analysis, budgeting, risk management, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Stay updated on relevant agricultural regulations, policies, and compliance requirements, and advise clients on best practices to ensure regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship.
  • Providing management and strategic advice to a diverse range of farming businesses.
  • Preparing feasibility studies for diversification opportunities.
  • Preparing and administering joint venture agreements.
  • Financial monitoring and analysis including preparing budgets and cashflows.
  • Restructuring, business recovery and raising finance. 
  • Preparing tenders and identifying business opportunities.
  • Rural Grant funding applications and designing of schemes specific to clients needs and objectives for their business.
  • Applications to the Sustainable Farming Incentive and other Agri Environmental Schemes.

 

Key Experience Required:

  • The ideal candidate will have a farming background/experience alongside an Agricultural or Farm Management degree.
  • Strong knowledge of agronomy, crop production, and livestock management.
  • Understanding of farming businesses, agricultural regulations, and sustainable practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and agricultural management tools.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.
