Based in our Exeter office, the Residential Sales Department is looking to recruit a Negotiator.

Supported by the Head the Department, you will be responsible for obtaining instructions in line with  business targets, whilst maintaining a high professional profile and a relationship with our clients built on trust and integrity.




  • Obtain instructions on properties of a suitable quality and in sufficient quantity to achieve agreed business targets
  • Supervise the efficient administration of all procedures in the placing of properties on the market
  • Find buyers and negotiate the sale of properties
  • Be responsible for all outstanding monies in relation to properties sold
  • Liaise with other departments when required
  • Communicate fully with all concerned to ensure that sales are managed in an efficient and professional manner
  • Have a clear understanding of agricultural matters and the farmland market.
  • Maintain a high profile in the community in order to obtain introductions to prospective clients
  • Understand the district and have a sound knowledge of contemporary property values together with a keen awareness of local competition
  • Research data accurately and present this information in writing to a high professional standard
  • Build and maintain goodwill, confidentiality and trust with prospective and existing clients at all times in order to foster the professional image of the Partnership
  • Perform other tasks delegated by the Partner in charge as required
  • Deputise for the Partner in charge when they are not available
  • Liaise with members of other departments and get to know the individuals and their markets both for the purpose of obtaining information in support of valuations and also to keep an eye on cross selling of business.
