Our Birmingham Lease Advisory team is currently looking for an Associate / Partner level candidate to come in and grow this busy team, initially focussing on the Midlands industrial and office markets.
Responsibilities
Due Diligence
- Manage existing instructions and clients on behalf of both owners and occupiers – including rent reviews/lease renewals/lease re-structuring in the Midlands across the office and industrial sectors.
- Reading, summarising and understanding legal documents & commenting on their impact on value.
- To keep abreast of the market and compile comparable evidence schedules.
- Assistance with the production of reports to clients and in the context of third party proceedings.
- Once experienced you will manage your own case load of rent reviews/lease renewals.
- Assisting with and attending pitches for new business.
Negotiation
- Assist in formulating strategies to implement client instructions to secure favourable outcomes on their behalf.
- Liaise closely with agents.
- Undertake negotiations directly on own caseload.
Client Support
- Build and maintain a network of contacts.
- Work within existing client base to build relationships.
- Identify, target and win new clients and instructions.
Professional Standards
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Quality Assurance procedures.
- Be sensitive to changes in the local market/sector and respond effectively.
- Maintain a high professional profile and be continually alert to new business opportunities.
- Promote the professional image of the Department and Partnership at all times.
- Accept responsibility for any aspect of the office/department and delegated tasks as decided by the Partner in charge.
Systems and IT competence
- Understand all aspects of information technology systems particular to the office/department.
- A good knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint would be a benefit.
Professional experience and personal skills profile
Career Experience Required
- MRICS qualified with a minimum of four years PQE experience in lease advisory and having a proven track record of rent reviews and lease renewals having undertaken third party referrals.
Particular Aptitudes/Skills Required
- A desire to lead a department and grow the workbook targeting lease events and clients learn the technical knowledge required and to invest the time and effort in a lease advisory role for the long term.
- The ability to juggle a number of cases and to work in a busy, hardworking team to tight deadlines.
- The experience, ability and enthusiasm to make and maintain contacts for the profitable development of business.
- Strong organisational skills to keep on top of a busy caseload.
- The ability to think laterally when problem solving.
- Ambitious and entrepreneurial keen to develop a team and grow a business.
- Work close with agency colleagues.
- Open minded / hard working.
