This is a full-time role for a highly motivated, results driven Finance Manager supporting the Managing Partner. 

  • Overall responsibility for managing the finances of the Berlin Office, working closely with the Managing Partner.
  • Book-keeping, preparation and production of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of annual financial statements to at least trial balance, liaising with external tax-consultant for their timely completion
  • Reporting to Head Office in London for the annual group consolidation
  • Maintaining the company’s bank accounts, monitoring and projecting cashflow
  • Supplier payments, and reconciliation of the intercompany account with Head Office
  • Client invoicing and credit control
  • Ensuring prompt payment of VAT, Social Security and Taxation
  • VAT returns
  • Business partnering the Managing Partners, providing guidance and recommendations around key decisions.
  • Developing and delivering the financial analysis of the business’s performance to the Managing Partners and to Head Office, which includes reviewing performance against target / budgets, producing an incisive monthly commentary and reporting to Head Office in the required form and timescale.
  • Driving and contributing to the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Providing commercial advice and insight, to assist the Managing Partners.
  • Attending bi-annual business planning meetings with the Managing Partners and London-based stakeholders.
  • Actively seeking out savings and efficiencies in the business.
  • Market share analysis – leveraging external data where possible alongside the research department, to work out market share and performance relative to competitors.

 

 

Experience

 

  • You will be a financial analyst and accountant, with the ability to provide analytical reports and commercial recommendations for national or international businesses, operating alongside senior level stakeholders.  
  • Proven experience working with senior management teams.
  • Consultative approach, with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Great team player with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills – the role requires the ability to communicate financial data to non-finance staff at all levels within the firm.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting and challenging non-finance stakeholders.
  • The ability to provide commercial advice and guidance, assisting in key business decisions and strategy planning.
  • Previous experience working in a large, national or international company would be beneficial.
